Culinary Table

Welcome to The Culinary Table!

“We believe in wholesome food that is made from scratch. The ingredients that we use are the most important aspect to any dish that is prepared.

Our food is that of a holistic approach while striving to maintain the utmost respect towards simplicity.” – Daniela Gutstadt

With just a few kilometers out of Fourways is the beautiful Culinary Table!

This outstanding garden to table restaurant is in the heart of Lanseria and is the last thing you would expect to find as it is situated in an industrial park with planes taking off near by.

The Gutstadt family strongly believe in ethical and sustainable farming and cooking while striving to maintain the utmost respect towards simplicity.

The garden boasts big gorgeous built-in veggie troughs with lush herbs, flowers, veggies and fruit with a chicken pen where the chickens are free to lay eggs.

When you enter through the spectacular kitchen shop there are lots of great kitchen accessories to purchase with an intimate wine cellar.

Once you come down the stairs to enter the restaurant the space speaks for itself.

The beautiful setting and home-style decor makes you feel so comfortable, I can honestly spend hours here!

For breakfast I just had to try the strawberry french toast but the salmon rosti is on the top of the favourites list at Culinary Table! Of course, I had a delicious red cappuccino to go with it.

If you are there for lunch (or feeling brave for brekkie) do yourself a favour and order a signature G&T cocktail!! It’s locally made/infused in the Cradle of Human Kind and has a special Culinary Table twist! (I’m not telling)

After a satisfying breakfast or lunch, pop into the deli come bakery and pick up some fresh bread or cheeses followed by a shopping spree in the store for pantry goodies and delicious fresh produce!! This is my best part – I never leave empty handed!! Obviously!

If you fancy some fresh lettuce or spinach the garden manager will cut some for you straight from the garden – it really doesn’t get fresher than this!

I got some beautiful lettuce, spinach and swiss chard which I made into a fresh summer salad and green juice!

As the garden sustains the menu it changes regularly due to the seasonal herbs and veggies available.  The menu is small but has carefully thought out fresh dishes that will leave you wanting more, trust me on this!

If you are thinking about visiting over a weekend I would suggest booking a table to avoid disappointment, so enjoy a drive out into the open countryside and spend some time at this gorgeous establishment.
